The Cooper Hurling helmet was first introduced into the game of hurling 40 years ago, it was the first hurling helmet and has remained the brand and market leader ever since.

This is to certify that the product group reference Hurling Helmet comprising of the following product(s) has been subject to an EC Type-examination in accordance in the Article 10 of the PPE Directive (89/686/EEC) and has been shown to satisfy the relevant provisions of this Directive for the intermediate category through:

i. Testing to the following standard: SATRA M22:2005

ii. Examination of the relevant technical documentation.

IMPORTANT

This hurling helmet is for use in the games of Hurling & Camogie Only. It is a player’s helmet, the choice of hurlers for 40 years in Ireland and has been constructed with this in mind. It offers basic protection only from low level impact to the head and face area. It will not protect you from violent, or an intentional / deliberate strike by a hurley or sliotar where the clear intention is to hurt or maim the wearer. This hurling helmet offers no protection to any other part of the body, neck, spine or limbs.

COOPER HURLING HELMET- the perfect fit

Your Cooper hurling helmet is famous for its fitting ability - the perfect fit. The hurling helmet can be adjusted in size by adjusting 4 studs, this is to ensure that a perfect fit is achieved and is the single most popular feature for players over the past 40 years.
There are 9 possible adjusting positions per hurling helmet, the hurling helmet must be adjusted vertically and horizontally only, never adjust the helmet in a diagonal direction.
 The 4 adjusting studs must be carefully adjusted, until you get the perfect fit for your head, once the fit feels perfect it is vital that you tighten the studs correctly ensuring that they are fully secure, for your own personal safety always check these studs before you use your helmet. The unique Cooper hurling Helmet shell is manufactured from high impact polypropylene material and the width of the hurling helmet will expand over time to fit all head widths and take the shape of your head.

The straps attached to the face guard must be adjusted until the hurling helmet fits snugly and securely to the head and the Cooper chin piece fits snugly and comfortable against the chin. The face guard must always be worn in the closed position and securely locked using the four buckles.

DO NOT Exchange, Remove or Replace any part of the Helmet or Face Guard. All repairs must be carried out by Cooper Leisure International Ltd only.

Cooper Hurling Helmet - Inspection
Regular inspection of your Cooper Helmet and Face Guard is vital to ensure it has not received any damage in a game or otherwise. The Helmet & Face Guard must be inspected after every incident, involving contact with a hurley, sliotar, or another player. If any sign of damage has appeared do not use the Helmet.

Cooper Hurling Helmet - Storage
Your Cooper hurling Helmet is supplied to you in a carrier bag, to help protect if from the elements. Make sure that it does not come in contact with any material that may harm it such as solvents, bleach or detergents.
Always store in a dry warm area +18°C to +22°C
Never store your helmet or face guard when it is damp or wet.


Cooper Hurling Helmet - Cleaning Instruction
If your hurling helmet requires cleaning use water and a mild soap, as required. Your face guard should be wiped with a dry cotton cloth on a regular basis and always after use to remove any moisture or dirt etc.

For your own personal Safety
It is recommended at a minimum to discard your helmet inside 4 years from the date of purchase regardless of its condition.
